Immunotest π, for the detection of unstable proteins.

For several years, the R&D department of Sofralab has been working on the protein instability of wines in order to develop a reliable and accurate test. Our research work, as well as other studies carried out by different institutes, showed that two types of proteins were systematically involved in cases of protein instability. Thus, our researchers have developed an immunologically based kit to detect these proteins using specific antibodies. This test, called Immunotest π, is now ready and can be applied regardless of the bentonite used.

This test, Trophée d’argent Vinitech 2008, will be available shortly. Immunotestπ was also awarded the Viteff 2009 innovation award under the “international” category.

In addition to this two awards, Immunotestπ has recently received the innovation award at the 2010 Intervitis that took place in Stuttgart.
